Monkey Island 2 – demo
Man hann knappt avslutade den kända “How much wood could a woodchuck chuck”-dialogen innan man tillfrågades om man ville köpa spelet.
Street Fighter II HD Remix in Europe!

Finally Street Figher II HD Remix have been scheduled for Europe PSN! I’ve been waiting for this for a long time and this will be the first game I buy through PSN. I’ve downloaded many demos and free addons before and I hope that purchase and download will be just as easy as before.
For those who missed it the HD Remix edition is a complete remake of all the old graphics to fit the HD format. Everything was remade while trying as best as possible to remain true to the old look and feel. The above picture shows it just as I remember it in my mind, if I saw an actual screenshot of what it really looked like back in the days on arcade machines I would probably be dissapointed.
Perfect to relive some old arcade moments and also on the way is Street Figher IV which I will pre-order!

3D art of old Video Games

Through Kotaku I found a very nice site featuring many 3D-art images of old Video Games. Good thing it’s mostly images since I cant understand a word of Japaneese!
Braid – innovation on Xbox Live
This is the first time I ever really wanted an Xbox… this game really looks just like a game I would love. Very nice artwork, innovative gameplay and “retro-feel” with references to old Super Mario games!
Guitar Hero for C-64!
I’ve always wondered why Guitar Hero wasn’t invented earlier, but pushing it back to the early 80′s might be to optimistic? Toni Westbrook made an effort and we now have “Shredz64“, a Guitar Hero clone for the good old Commodore 64.
I admire people who can do hacks like these and would love to be able to do them myself!
NES emulators on-line
It seems someone has been busy and made a on-line NES emulator brining old NES roms to the web!

http://www.nescafeweb.com/
You can play the old games on-line, all you need is a webbrowser, javascript and flash!
Still.. it doesnt beat the feeling of sitting down with a small rectangular gamepad and a gray box in front of the TV!
Good Old Games
A site opening in September will offer old games for a cheap price. They also offer the games with no digital right management (DRM) control, if you buy it it’s yours to keep.
On their frontpage right now I can spot some interesting titles and it may be worth to drop by when they open up. For now you can only sign up to a newsletter (and possibly beta) at the site.

Project MAME
While mindlessly browsing the Internet I came across this guide to create a classic arcade cabinet powered by MAME. The result truly looks amazing and I am more than tempted to create one of my own but I simply don’t have the time. Those arcade reconstructions could probably be sold on an order basis to retro gamers like myself.
